I understand. I never attended any support groups personally, but I know they are a lot of help. You're right, a lot of people don't understand because they've never dealt with it, but don't let them get to you. Keep looking and stay with us, there's always someone to talk to on here, and we've all dealt with what you are. Maybe you could start a support group in your area. There are many places to meet, even take turns meeting in each other's homes. This is how many support groups get started, and also thru church, it's very easy to do. You're going to do just fine.
I had a wee look on the net there, and what do u know, after all i found a wee support help group, that i didnt know about, not to far away from me,so another step im going to be taking is going to that, maybe help along with the tablets and this forum who knows,i so hope so,my aim is to live again and be happy again for me,but most off all my kids, takecare x
thank you for your input, yes i will give the tablets a bit more time,i stopped taking my tablets when was pregnant, cause i was in and out off hospital with my pregnancy, and didnt go back on my tablets straight away, after i had my son,but now im back on them, but i remember when was on them before i got pregnant,i remember a few things i done that wouldnt do now, like my cousins wedding etc,so they must off been doing more good back then, but i dont think i have found a doctor that is very understanding, and works closely with me,i cant find any social groups in Belfast, cause i think part off me feeling better,my recovery,as well as taking my tablets, would be going to a support group and talking 2 people with same illness as us,like this forum is a geat help, cause people i meet in everyday life, when i explain wats wrong with me,they look at me like im stupid, they dont understand, how would they if they havent had depression and so on,thats y im hoping to find a support group, did u urself find help in any support groups from where u r?takecare x
I was on Prozac for several years with great results, but we all react differently to medications. You need to give it plenty of time to build up in your system to a point where it is helping you, this can be up to 6 weeks. You won't see instant results, you need to be patient, and look at each day as being one day closer to feeling better. Always work closely with your doctor on this medication, and if after 6 weeks you feel no better, call your doctor. Never abruptly stop taking it.
