sad day :(

So i'm 17 & had an abortion at 16 (7 months ago) . I do regret it. & Today was suppose to be my due date & i'm just really sad. Not sad , but confused. I don't know to feel whether happy or sad. I talked about this with my 3 year boyfriend & he just doesn't see it as big as I see it. I understand cause he's a guy , but today was something big for me that i've been thinking about all day..
I still haven't got over it & is still dealing with depression. I am going to go to counseling soon so i'll see if that helps. But for right now, I don't know what to do :/

Thank you all for your responses :)
That day went alright. I got to see my boyfriend & spend time together. Me & his sister got to talk about it .
I plan to go to therapy as soon as I can. Hopefully I cope well with them. Meanwhile, i'm going to try to stay positive :)

I'm so sorry you're going through this!  Abortion is a difficult decision at any age, but the younger group tends to have a more difficult time statistically.  You are making a wise move going into counseling.  Be sure not to hold things back and to let your therapist know exactly what you're feeling and why.  And talk to your boyfriend.  If he cares, he will listen even if to him it wasn't as big a deal.

In the meantime, I would also suggest journaling.  Even if you write it out and burn it or tear it apart, get those feelings out!  Sometimes the act of just seeing them written helps validate those feelings.  Explore why you're feeling this way, what values/morals you have that may be influencing you to feel this way, and what decisions in the future might help avoid more situations like this.  You'll be getting a head start in your therapy and it will help you have a direction to go when you first see your therapist.

Also note: you don't HAVE to stay with a therapist just because the therapist was assigned to you.  If you don't click with the therapist or are made uncomfortable, then request a different one until you find one who's right for you.  Sometimes, it can take a little while.  Other times, it happens right away.

Best of luck!  And be sure to express your feelings.  Don't bottle it in!  Let yourself cry if it will help.
