The angioedema to lips is concerning. Do take ACE-inhibitor such as lisinopril or accupril? Do you have a dry cough with this? Could be a reaction to ACE-inhibitors.
Hello,
From the symptoms that you have mentioned in your post, two possibilities that came to my mind were fungal infection( because it was involving the elbows, knees etc andgets worsened by sweat or humidity) and eczema. It is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics, even urine and faeces of some animals (dust mites).
I suggest you to get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to rule out any fungal infection and a biopsy skin done. Once diagnosis is confirmed, we can plan the treatment accordingly.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Still getting angioedema of the upper and some time lower lip time to time. I am getting angioedemic hives in random spots on my body.. As far as the hives go some days are better than others. I seem to be more prone to getting pimples lately as well. Now my labret has become infcted. I have had it for over 10 years. I do not recall traumatizing it in any way but it is painfull and if take it out and squirt some water through it a little bit of yellow goo will come out. It has been many years since i have had any issues with it at all. Suddenly this.... I am caring for it by rinsing it 2 times a day with water and some listerine to help kill the what ever is causing the problem.
I must also say that since the skin problems started the inside of my mouth has also been very sensative. It gets scrached easier when eating crunchy foods. And Some times I get sore spots on the edges of my tongue they appear sligtly red, last for a day or 3 then vanish. no ulcerations or anything lke that thus far.
So far my research on what may be happening to me seems to fall into an inflamitory condition. Alot of what i am seeng seems to suggest either a T cell count to high or conversly to low. Gong to go back to the doctor and get a mast cell and t cell count.
If these come back normal or within tolerace I dont know what to do. Start tearing my house apart till i find what is causing the reactions?
totaly frustrated.
Having another attack of aingioedema today. Hurts....
