Acne like rask on neck

I have had this rash only on my neck for over a month now. Just red, doesn't itch. I went to the derm which was actually a nurse practitioner last week. She took one look and said acne/ follicullitis. But I don't have acne anywhere else? So she gave me minocycline, which i had already been taking on and off. Also, told me to get Panoxil 10%. The day after I used the panoxil the rash has become redder and progressively spreading. I don't know what to do and it will be another month before I can get in to see a different dermatologist.

Often ppl say the rash looks like i've gotten razor burn from shazing like men do and some have asked if I have poision ivy. It is really getting annoying and embarassing. Please HELP!

Thanks

Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be folliculitis. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. Pls keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as neomycin and calamine are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
