Hello.  I am an heterosexual male.  I've had sex twice this year, last encounter was 15 days ago.  The girl gave me oral sex, and we had intercourse with a condom.  I have always used condoms.  Las night though, I saw what appears to be a pimple on my pubic genital area.    I tried to squeeze it, but nothing happened, I started to bleed a little. So I went to a dr, but he was very young, and he was not sure if it could be Papiloma or something else.

Today I saw what appear to be tiny red bumpy dots, some are brown on my testicle's skin.   I saw two on my left testicle, and one on my right testicle.  Do I have an std? I must add that I run a lot so it gets very humid down there.  I took photos, if I could send them anonimously that would be great.  Please help.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

I can understand your concern for these small bumps because they have appeared after sexual intercourse. But two points which are slight reassuring are that firstly these bumps have appeared 15 days after intercourse and not immediately after sex which lessens the possibility of STD. Secondly since you run a lot, these small bumps can be due to irritated hair follicles due to friction and irritation with clothes while running exaggerated by sweating of the area.

Hence two possibilities for these bumps would be folliculitis and genital HPV warts. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).

Wear cotton underwear and keep the area clean. Also use mild soaps like Dove. Apply Neosporin or Bactroban cream on the red bumps. If they decrease in size then it is folliculitis. However if they remain the same or increase then HPV warts should be ruled out. There is no test which tests for HPV in men. They can be diagnosed after visual examination.

Hope that this information helps and hope that you will get better soon.

Wishing you good health.
