Am I getting a cold sore or is this a bacterial infection?

Usually I can see yellow dots/spots under and all over my lips that actually only appeared a few years ago when I had a cold sore that popped at the dentist's office. After that I had a 2 month long cold sore outbreak with a terrible bacterial/fungal infection that went all over my lips.

Ever since that occurance, I can see yellow dots under my lips all the time. I never used to have those yellow dots before. So anyways, I just had a cold sore about a week ago -- it is now in the scabbing stage, this is the second day in the scabbing stage. However, now I can see little white/clear dots coming out of my lips. Upon a closer look in the mirror, I can see its those yellow spots that are squeezing/coming out from under my lips. Some are out, and some are slowly rising/squeezing itself onto the surface of my lip.

I don't know what's going on -- if this is a cold sore, or if that initial bacterial/fungal infection is coming out on my lip and that it never really went away and settled under the first few layers of my lip skin. Btw, I took about 8 Valtrex Pills (4 pills, twice for one day) that were prescribed to me two days ago.

What is this?

It sounds like you have had a doctor take a look if you have the Valtrex, is that correct?  Did the doctor see the yellow spots that you are worried about, or just the cold sore?

Yes, during the time the doctor took a look, I only had the cold sore. But about 2 days after, I started having those other tiny bumps coming out of my lips so I didn't mention it to the doctor or told him.

I did have a slight tingling sensation on the outer corner of my lips but I just assumed it was because of dry lips, irritation.

I'm thinking it may be a fungal or bacterial infection because this has occurred before and my doctor prescribed me fucidian cream and told me I had a lip infection.

I did see another doctor today, but to be quite honest, he was not very good -- and he completely ignored what I said and instead prescribed me dental paste aka Triamcinolone Acetonide without even telling me exactly what I had that he was prescribing this to me for.

I had to ask the pharmacist and he said it is for candida (lol what? so random because the doctor never said anything).

I haven't applied this paste because I checked on the net, and it says this is used for mouth ulcers and should not be used if you have a bacterial, fungal or viral infection.

So now I'm waiting until tomorrow to visit the initial doctor I saw. The cold sore scab has fallen off, the area where it was is still red so I have it coated with vaseline. But those other clear little bumps are popping out all over the rest of my lips.
The best way I can describe these little spots is that they seem to be clear blisters that are oozing out from under my lips from odd and small tiny cracks on the lips, and aren't forming in the same way that cold sores do.

Usually with cold sores, the skin gets red, starts to throb strong enough that I can see it throbbing/flashing in the mirror. But these little clear bumps are just coming out without me feeling any of the cold sore sensations, and only a look in the mirror makes me realize that they have progressed and are forming lots of tiny blisters in different parts of my lip.

Man, life sucks atm. -_-

I'd agree with you- it sounds like a different type of infection.  So sorry that doctor didn't even bother to listen, that is so frustrating!  Let us know how your next appointment goes- I hope you get some answers!
