Somewhere around 2 years about this thing showed up on my left-hand pinky finger. It started out as 3 small bumps; one between the first and 2nd joint, one right on the 2nd joint, and one just after it. Within a few days the two by the 2nd joint grew into each other and the lone one got bigger.
I began clipping at them with a nail clippers to no avail. Thinking they were warts, i used a freeze-off kit and froze them and allowed the skin to die, and heal. It grew right back. Since then i pick at it and chew at it (i know i probably shouldn’t). It got rough and callously and kind-of flaky and easy to pick open. Again I froze it, much more thoroughly. I thought it would stay gone this time as it seemed to be growing normally but then they grew back yet again.
They don’t really hurt, the skin is slightly off-color, sort-of slightly yellowed. It makes it harder to bend the finger since it is thicker there, which is annoying for typing. I can pick at the wrinkle for the joint and it is pretty easy to pick it open and make it bleed. There is no puss. When i use clippers to clip it, the skin is pretty thick there before it bleeds. There is somewhat reduced sensation in it as well, like a callous. Though I don’t see why a callous would grow from 3 small random spots on a finger i don’t use or rest any writing utensils against (though it is my dominant/writing hand), nor why a callous would grow back.
I haven’t gone to a doctor because it seems like such an insignificant thing compared to about anything else! but it really does bug me every day.
