Bad Body Odor

Hi there,

I wondering was if you could help me? My issue is that i smell reallllllyy bad and there's nothing i can do about it. Here are the following details - its easier to sum up in bullets points. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

- I had it since i was about 12-13 before then was no issue.
- Its not diet nor lack of water
- Nothing i have ever used has ever worked. Change underwear 3 times a day, use anti-sweat stuff from pills, anti-perspirant, regular baths, cleaned clothes, chlorophyll and active charcoal does not work.
- My father stinks up his bed too within 3 days.
- I have been tested for vitamins B or D deficiency, trimethylaminuria (fish odor syndrome), blood test, any lower infections and all have come back negative or fine.
- I cannot smell myself at all but i hear it can be reallly strong.
- I have been to doctors and an dermatologist with no results.

I am tried of trying to convince them that i do smell, when they smell nothing as throughout my life i had toooo many tell inform me that i do smell despite being perfectly clean. Can you assist me as i am getting tried?

Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for your thoughtful and well put question.  Sorry you have this issue going on and we will try to help.  I'm glad to hear that you've been working with your doctor. This is important for guidance.  Here is something you may consider looking into. This is new information about unexplained body odor that may give you some direction.  Metabolic disorders can be inherited and it sounds like your dad has similar issues. https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=149212  Although it looks like you may have been tested for this?  However, if you have a lower level of TMU, it can smell more garbage like than fishy and also may not show as abnormal in your test results. I'm guessing they checked your blood sugars as diabetes can lead to this kind of body odor as can thyroid dysfunction. Both of those issues ruled out?  Kidney and liver issues can also create unexplained body odor.
