Bump on skin

I have had this bump on my skin now for just over a year. In the beginning it looked kind like a pimple as it was flesh colored. But then I started picking it and there was no pus in it and it would always come right back. It no longer looks like it did before its still the same size but now it a brownish color on the edges and pinkish white color in the middle. And it feels a little callous but that could be from the constant picking. I have even picked it with a needle. Its only small about the size of a pea. I have had it looked at and the first doctor said it was a mollusca then he used liquid nitrogen to burn it but all that did was cause a blood blister and it was still there when it healed. Then when I had my gp look at it he said it was nothing to worry about and that it was something that I forget the name of I just know it ended in oma. He said it was like a scarring.  But it has always remained a bump that looks and feels callous like and also it does not bleed much. it does not dimple either but there usually looks like their is a darker spot in the middle. Can you give me any insight into what it could be?

i bet im being annoying. i just wanted to add that also once the bump get irritated like from me poking at it it will become purple and it fills with blood and i can break it like a blister. then it leaves it looking drained util it heals again back into the bump. but the bump does not have fluid in it uless it gets aggitated.

I think I may just have it removed. I have seen the pictures of the keratoacanthomas and this does not look like them because its not knobby like they are and it does not have a crust center like they do also it does not have a crater in the middle. I am making an appointment with my doctor I was just hoping to have some piece of mind in the mean time.

Hello,
The etiology of keratoacanthomas is uncertain, and it is uncertain if they truly are benign or if they have malignant potential. The possibility of molluscum contagiosum is unlikely because it presents as multiple bumps rather than a solitary bump and they spread very fast due to autoinoculation. The bumps that arise from scars are usually keloids. They are formations of scar tissue that grow after trauma or piercing of a body part is done. A dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best to diagnose the condition.
Hope it helps. Take care and God bless.

The lesion did not start as a red papule it was fleh colored until i began to pick it nor did it have a crater but it did have a dark little pin spot in the middle sometimes but only after i picked at it. i did consult two doctors and one said molluscum and my doc said something benign but i forget what it was called i just know it ended in oma. he also said it has something to do with scarring.

Hello,
From your symptoms it can be a keratoacanthoma(KA). The other possibility is of a benign skin growth. KA begins as a smooth, dome-shaped, red papule that resembles molluscum contagiosum. It presents as a fleshy, elevated and nodular lesion with an irregular crater shape and a characteristic central hyperkeratotic core. A skin biopsy is mandatory in your case for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
