Burning

I have hemorrhoids and an anal fissure. I wore a thong 2 days in a row. By the evening of the second night my perianal and lower vulva area was burning. Three days later I'm still having a burning sensation and the pain becomes more severe after wiping from urination or a bm. The upper perianal area and corresponding lower vulva area look a little swollen. I do not see any skin lesions present. Is there an explanation for this stinging?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

An anal fissure is a small tear in the lining of the anal canal. and usually presents with pain or burning during bowel movements; bright red blood on the outside of the stool; and irritation around the anus, which what have you been experiencing. The tear usually extends from the anal opening and located posteriorly in the midline. This location is probably because of the relatively unsupported nature of the anal wall in that location.  If lifestyle and self-care measures such as adding more fiber to your diet, drinking more water, getting regular exercise, and taking a stool softener or occasional laxative are not effective, your doctor may recommend the following nonsurgical treatments: medicated creams or suppositories to help reduce inflammation and ease discomfort and applying nitroglycerine ointment to the anus, which widens blood vessels and increases blood flow to the tear, promoting healing.  Signs and symptoms may go away within two weeks. If the tear doesn't heal within six to eight weeks, however, you may need surgery. DIscuss with your doctor which treatment option is best for you.

Take care and keep us posted.

I think maybe bacteria that starts growing after u have the thing on for a couple of days without cleaning. Also the thong can irritate and rub your skin raw from staying there for so long and thats why it could be burning. U might also have got something like a yeast infection. gotta keep it clean down there and wear more comfortable panties if you plan on wearing them more than a day
