Can this mole / lump be dangerous?

Hey everyone, I'm really worried about this mole that showed up about a year ago out of nowhere. I didn't bother it, and it didn't grow or shrink much over time, but it did bleed at one point when I accidentally scratched it. Its diameter is about 0.5 cm and it's located on my side, about a palm lower than my underarm.

I'm trying to avoid going to the doctor during the pandemic but I'm starting to get worried about skin cancer. Can anyone help me figure out what this might be? I don't have any other health issues.

It's not possible to diagnose from photos, but any raised mole will bleed if it is scratched, and the bleeding is not indicative of skin cancer.

Since it is a new growth, it is worth having examined by a doctor next time you're in.  However, most moles that end up being cancerous change shape and color over time, by themselves.  If this has not been happening, it isn't likely cause for concern.  Your best bet right now is to keep an eye on it for awhile, and watch for changes.

Thanks for the tips! I don't think it changed much since it appeared, so I guess that's a good sign. I'll definitely get it checked eventually!
