Cancer worries

i am concerned about cancer. I have eczema as my dermatologist diagnosed a few months ago after a cancer scare. I had a biopsy done on my face a few months ago. The biopsy came back as showing excessive mucin or mucinosis (dont know how to spell it) in it.So my derm. called me back to his office to inspect my skin. They said the biopsy possibly showed skin lymphona i beleive (cancer) and i had an excess amount of mucin or mucinosis(i think its called) in my hair follicle. So when i went back to the Dermatologist , they looked at my skin and inspected me. They said it was fine and i have nothing to worry about and that i dont have skin cancer. Now fast forward to 3 months after the biopsy. I was sick with something few weeks ago, and i want to know if this is connected to skin cancer somehow or skin lymphoma or any cancer suggestive from that biopsy. My symptoms were, Pimples on the top of my scalp, that crusted, and stung like fire, and were very painful, could not even comb my hair, the whole side of my neck was swollen and painful from both sides, more on one side though. One side of my face was very swolen and puffy and hurt, i had a large painful bump behind each area which hurt to the touch, i had swollen painful bumps down my neck, i counted about 4 or 5 of them, the side of my neck was swollen and puffy as well with my face, i was given amoxicillin trihydrate 500mg/novamoxin 500mg taken for 10 day, All swelling and pain went down, the scalp irritation went away, the bumps are not painful anymore and shrunk 80% in size. I want to know, is this related to cancer in any way.Because i had that skin biopsy result worry, are these 2 things related at all? should i forget about cancer and get it out of my head? i saw a general Dr (not a dermatologist) and they said it was an infection of some sort, they seemed to know nothing about what mucin meant, i dont trust what general family Dr's say about skin things because they are not familiar with skin biopsy results etc.

Our goal is to give you the best answer possible. That is why I asked for specific description of your lesions and biopsy results in my post to you from 10 days ago. I have not heard back from you. I hope that you feel better.

Based on information you initially provided, answers to your questions are:

1. You were not able to provide biopsy result nor description of lesion, so there is nothing to correlate with clinical findings that appeared three months later.

2. Painful “pimples on the top of the scalp” with swollen, painful neck and face and  large painful bumps behind each ear and down the neck that almost completely resolved after 10 days of oral antibiotics point towards bacterial infection that possible started as Folliculitis and advanced into Furunculosis (boils – deep infection of hair follicles) and maybe even Cellulitis.
3. In general, worrying about disease you neither have any symptoms of, nor it is established by applied diagnostic tools, is not something that can bring anything positive.
4. Same as answer under 1.
5. Acquired hyperpigmentation (area of more pigmented, darker skin) can be caused by many factors including sun, hormonal changes, earlier area of inflammation, etc.

If possible, please cite (quote) complete histopathology result. Also, please provide clinical description of lesion(s) biopsy was taken from (how and where did it start; how did/does it look; what were/are the symptoms, etc.).

Thank you,
Dr. Jasmina Jankicevic

another point i missed, the painful bumps behind my ears were visibly bumpy as well, like a big lump sticking out from under the skin.

Just one more concern i had,

5) one side of my nose is darker than the other in the creases of the nose where the nostrils end   (i guess people call them dark circles around the nose)  but for me its only on one side, is this normal too

1)i want to know if this is connected to skin cancer somehow or skin lymphoma or any cancer suggestive from that biopsy

2)  I want to know, is this related to cancer in any way.Because i had that skin biopsy result worry,

3)should i forget about cancer and get it out of my head in this particular situation?

4) Can my recent sickness be correlated with skin cancer as well?

are my 4 questions

I cant just see a dermatologist, i would have to be refferred from a general dr, but the Dr said it was an infection. So there is not point in asking to be refferred. I just dont trust a General Dr with issues related to skin etc. So please be thorough and answer as much as you can and help me get this worry out of my head. It has been causing me tremedous anxiety
