Can't Stop Biting

I bite and pick my ring and middle finger on my right hand. I rub them against the other fingers, and sometimes my mouth, to feel the roughness of them. They look absolutely disgusting. I try putting bandaids on them, but I either bite the band aids, or start to attack a different finger. It doesn't feel good but like it somehow makes me feel better I think. I have anxiety and I'm ADHD inattentive. The most biting happens in my college classes throughout the day. When I am home I put clay in my hand and it prevents it for the time being. Why can't I stop doing this?
