I had thick raised patches on my face and scalp starting back in 2015. My dermatologist said it was seborrheic dermatitis, gave me fluocinolone ointment and nizoral shampoo. The ointment works well on my face but nothing has calmed down my scalp- the patches have gotten worse and I'm flaking constantly. Additionally, I've been having a lot of nail changes- in particular, I had two fingernails partially separate from the bed (both have resolved since) and discoloration (dark pink/red) and thickening of one of my toenails. The last time my dermatologist checked it she sent a sample off for fungal testing and it came back negative, but she never told me what else it could possibly be, and she has since retired. My father had the same scalp symptoms and similar facial skin issues (He has passed and I don't know if he ever got diagnosed beyond rosacea, which my derm said I didn't actually have) and my maternal uncle has a psoriasis diagnosis. So I'm not sure if my original diagnosis was correct and my nail symptoms are separate, or if I got misdiagnosed. My dermatologist has recently (and very suddenly) retired so at the moment I'll be relying on my GP. But any insight would be greatly appreciated.
