Hello,

Chemical peel is a technique which makes use of some chemicals which are used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin. It uses a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off. They are of many types like alpha hydroxy acid peels, beta hydroxy acid peels, TCA peels, phenol peels and glycolic peels. There is minimal discomfort so usually no anesthetic is given because the patient feels only a slight stinging when the solution is applied.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I had one at Cleveland clinic. Good job but wooooo the realing ~ hard to go through. Did good though to stay so daily cleansing of face could be done. Kept scarring and infection down. Good job done. But  stay for getting skin cleaned for at least a week or so. Very important. Results lasted 3-5 years. Use aquaphor. Ask Dr. about it.
