After 2 months of Cipro, Valtrex and Cortsol for Epstein Barr virus, I developed acute bladder infection. I was treated with Levaquin for 1 month. At the tail end of my Cipro/Valtrex/Cortisol tretment and prior to the bladder infection the tip of my penis began to be constantly in pain (as if sand paper had been rubbed on the tip. This was 8 months ago! The pain has been constant. In addition pain in my lower left quadrant began to spread and my abdomen became very distented. I also have oral thrush and believe I have candiditis. I have had cystoscopy, endoscopy, colonoscopy, numerous blood tests and visual exams by urologist. I believe I am on the right track as far as a systemic candida (2 weeks into treatment), but am not feeling any improvement with the pain at the tip of my penis, or the mild burning upon every urination. In addition, every thing I read (and pictures I've seen) about genital yeast in men seems to be different than my condition in several ways: 1) I have constant pain, raw exposed nerve pain, 2) the only discoloration is small red irritated spot just around the opening of the urethra 3) the only time the head of my penis is white is right after ejaculation (for about 30 minutes) 4) I have no abnormal discharge. I am circumcised. After ejaculation, the pores of my glans penis are sticky (not from semen) like many micro dots of glue (when I touch it for a split second with toilet paper, the TP sticks to the tiny spots/pores instantly. Otherwise my penis looks normal. My urologist said I have possibly Chronic Pelvic Pain. I have symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis, but not frequent urination. All this came on after the Cipro/Valtrex Cortisol treatment so that is why I think it could be tied to candida.
Question: If my penis symptoms are so different from the classic yeast-related problems, (genital thrush etc) what could this chronic pain (and white coloration and sticky pores of the penis head after ejaculation) be from?
