Concern with rash on glans

About 3 weeks ago I noticed a rash on my glans that was really only noticeable when my penis was errect or semi-erect.  There are no sores and the rash is not painful to the touch.  I went to several doctors and one suggested that it might be fungal and I used lotrimin and that only seemed to make it worse.  I do get excema, could this possibly be occuring there?

If the rash it that subtle, it may not be anything at all.  It does not sound fungal, or indeed like anything requiring treatment or concern.  I advise you to ignore it and apply no medications on it.  Also, leave it alone--no rubbing or close examination.  If it's still there in a month, show it to a doctor.  But I bet it won't be.

Best.

Hello Hector  I have been dealing with a rash in that area for seven months now. After a couple doctors telling me it's eczema, I find it interesting that you tried using lotrimin and it made it worse. The doctors gave me various cortisone creams and ointments all of which made things worse. One doctor said to keep using it after I called to tell him it spread. The rash went down both legs and on the back of my scrotum. Then it itched like mad. I used lotrimin and in two days the rash was gone. The problem is it always comes back even while using lotrimin. They finally tested for fungus, after the skin looked normal. Then said it's not fungal. One week later it came back and the only thing that helps is lotrimin.
My allergist is getting me in to finally see a real dermatologist.
I never had any skin problems and now at 43 years old the doctor seems to think I have chronic eczema that responds negatively to all eczema treatments.
