Cracked & Red lips

Every fall - spring i have cracks, burning and red lips.
It comes only when the air is cold & dry
I'v had it for 13 years now, i'v visited doctors and they just keep telling me
that i should use some basic creams which doesnt help, they just take the burning away.
So i'd really appreciate some help :/ It's really horrible to have it.

Hello,
Firstly, It can be due to vit B deficiency. Take some vitamin B complex for some days and see if your symptoms improve.
Secondly, it can be due to atopic dermatitis or eczema. Cheilitis(Inflammation of the skin on and around the lips)is often seen in atopic dermatitis. Diagnosed by blood test like RAST. Treatment is by topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases. Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are also useful. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Well i visited a "skindoctor" and she said it's a Atophic Eczema.
She ordered me some "Protopic" and "Essex (Basic Cream).
It's all getting better now, well at least it's not burning/hurting anymore
and the redness and cracks are gone for now.
But i'm not sure if it all will heal since i'v been using PROTOPIC for almost 2 weeks now and theres still kinda brown/darker are around my lips where the eczema was.
Well, i'll hope for the best...
And thank you VERY much for helping me out, it has been a huge problem for me for whole my life, especially with women ^^.
Thanks -Ronski
