Cyst in the inner cheek

Hi

I have had a growth initially in the inner walls of my cheek in my mouth. This had been in for a couple of months but lately I noticed it.I have consulted a doctor and he says it is a cyst and you can surgically remove it.

Can you please tell me on this and whether it is dangerous?

Thanks and regards,
Sayan

Hello,
The cyst  can be mucus retention cyst.It is a cyst caused by an obstruction of a duct, usually belonging to the parotid gland or a minor salivary gland.Surgical excision is the main treatment.Other treatment options are cryosurgery and argon laser treatment.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.

Mucus cysts are not dangerous and to get them removed is the treatment.
