The bumps do not occur in the hair follicle. They are clustered though. They itch but arent painful with no discharge.the bumps disappear within a week leaving behind dark spots.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

Differentials for this may be a fungal infection, a dermatitis or folliculitis. Do the bumps involve the hair follicles? Are they clustered together or do they occur separately? Do they itchy or are they painful ? Do they have any discharge?

Given folliculitis as a differential, it is important to bear in mind that as a bacterial infection, it may be contagious. Refrain from unnecessarily touching the area and keep the areas involved clean and dry always. Wash your hands often with a mild cleanser .

You may need topical antimicrobial soap for this. If the areas do not respond, you may need to have this assessed as you may need oral medications here.
