Dark Knuckles and Cream Addiction

I am a light-skinned nigerian lady in my late twenties. I have a sensitive skin and most skin products causes my rash on my skin. Presently, i have been using 'Dove pink/rosa' soap and 'fair n white' body lotion mixed with serum. I only use funbact-A on my face whenever i feel like am having too much of pimples or rash.

I have had dark knuckles for a very long time but its getting darker and its beginning to worry me. let me include my addiction for 'Pears baby lotion'. i just use it as my hand cream and now am addicted, i carry it wherever i go, its bad that i put it by my bedside whenever i sleep because i wake up to use it. Sometimes, i feel its the pears that darkens my finger and toe knuckles. I have tried stopping it but whenever i don t use pears on my palms, i feel uncomfortable and dry.

How do i stop the addiction and what do i do about my dark knuckles?

Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
For the dark knuckles, treatment includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. However these should be used under a medical guidance. Also at night, repair your hands with creams formulated from glycolic acid—a must for improving skin texture and tone. For a more intensive nighttime treatment, apply cream and then cover hands with gloves or socks.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
