Glad that the medication worked for you.
Thanks for letting me know how you got on.

Don't forget that you may experience this from time to time, so when it flares up use the cream again.  Make sure that you do use it thinly and as prescribed on the packet.  Prolonged use can thin the skin.

I have been using my ointment for years on and off.

Best wishes.

Glad to hear that at last you have found something that helps.
Good thing too that you have found a dermatologist.

Usually indicated on the packet or container whether the detergent or washing gel is bio or non-bio.
If you can't find one, ask the store people.  Or go for one that shows pictures of a baby on the packet, these usually mean that they are gentle detergents.  Same goes for fabric conditioners, go for the non-allergenic ones.

There is also a thing called an EcoEgg that can be purchased from Amazon which was recommended to me, but I have not tried it yet.

Don't forget to use the cream as per instructions on the label and no washing with normal soap down below.

Thanks for letting me know how you are getting on.
Hope you get on OK
Best wishes.

Just wondering.  Because sometimes people get skin problems in different places.

Trimovate Cream is made by GlaxoSmithKline.
It contains clobetasone butyrate, calcium oxytetracycline and nystatin.

Ingredients:
Each 1g of cream contains:
         -  0.5mg clobetasone butyrate (o.05% w/w)
         - 30mg oxytetracycline (3% w/w), as calcium
         - 100,000 units nystatin

It also contains titanium dioxide, glyceryl monostearate, cetostearyl alcohol, soft paraffin white, polyoxyl 40 stearate, dimeticone 20, glycerol, chlorocresol, sodium metabissulphite, sodium acid phosphate, disodium hydrogen phosphate and purified water.

The directions we have been given is to apply it twice a day.  It is to be spread thinly on the affected skin only.  It is only for external use.  It is a moderate potency steroid preparation.

It may come under a different brand name where you live.  In the UK I cannot get a prescription from the Lloyds pharmacy because the manufacturer will not supply them any more.  But Boots can still get it.

I hope the information helps and that you can get something similar to help you.

Of course, you do realise, that it would be more preferable for you to be seen by a medical professional and diagnosed properly.

Another tip is don't use biological washing detergents.

Let me know how you get on.

Best wishes.

this ***** so bad.

Yes, I will follow all what you said.

I don't suffer eczema anywhere on my body. But why did you ask ?

okay I just went to a Pharmacy and they don't have Trimovate. They told me to bring the name of the substances in it so that they can find an equivalent.

If your condition gets confirmed as being a Lichen problem by the doctor, dermatologist or urologist, then there is no cure for Lichen problems.

What I have read up about the condition is that there is no knowledge why this happens, but it is believed to be an immune problem.

If it is Lichen, it is not contagious.

I was diagnosed with this many years ago and have it under control.

There are lots of medical problems and unfortunately there is not always a cure, but only management of the symptoms.

Follow the advice I have given in my previous replies with regard to creams and moisturisers and wearing cotton clothing and not using soaps.

The only way you will find out for definite what this is, is by have it medically seen to and a swab taken.

Until you get a medical assessment to find out for definite what this is I would suggest you do use protection.  You may find you may be allergic to latex, you can get latex free condoms now.

Lichen is not contagious, but fungal and bacterial infections are.

Do you suffer from eczema anywhere on your body?

There is no Cure for this problem?? why?

So I have to live with this thing for whole of my life? I mean I don't even know how I got it in the first place.

There's gotta be a permanent solution to this thing.

Is this thing infectious? I mean if I have an intercourse.

If it was a yeast infection the Canestan should have make at least some improvement.  Unless you didn't apply it for long enough.  Or you may need a stronger one.  I think Canestan HC is stronger.

As you have had this problem for 2 years now, it is likely that the condition you have is Lichen Planus or one of the Lichen problems.  There is no cure for this and it is managed by Cortisone creams and moisturisers.

I wouldn't recommend you to buy any Cortisone creams, unless these are prescribed because they can thin the skin.

I was prescribed with Trimovate some years ago by the hospital.  If you manage to get any of that do remember to read the instructions and apply it thinly.  It will not cure the problem but will help to relieve it.

Follow my advice in the previous reply with regard not using soaps etc.
Have a go at having a bath with a couple of handfuls of oats in the water.  It will not cure the problem, but it is soothing and helps dry skin.

Best wishes.

No, Canestan didn' work at all. Infact I felt like itching more after applying it. It only made it worse.

I will try to get Trimovate.

Can it be a yeast infection? I mean I don't know.

I hope I find a dermatologist soon. Because I can't enjoy my life.

Did you find the Canesten work at all?

I don't know what's available in Italy.  If you can get Trimovate try that.  Trimovate is a an antibacterial and an antifungal cream.

You may also try apply moisture cream like Sudocrem or similar or even Vaseline to moisturise the area.

Whatever you do, don't apply alcohol.
You could also try bathing in salted water, or a bath with a couple of handfuls of oats in the water.

With any of the ointments you will have to use these for a few weeks to see if it is working.  Only apply as directed on the packaging, usually they say apply thinly.  With the moisture creams, you can apply that as much as needed.

Hope you find a doctor soon so that you can be prescribed with the correct medication.

Hello, thank you for replying.

I've just moved to Italy. I don't know about any doctors here.

I would take all the precautions you said.

But can you tell me any cream or ointment I could use for a while until I find a doctor here?

Forgot to mention.

Also don't use harsh detergents to wash your clothes.  Use non-biological washing detergents.

Don't apply alcohol to the area.

You need to see your doctor so that the condition can be diagnosed properly and treated appropriately.

Don't use any soaps or shower gels down below.  This just dries the skin even more and aggravates it.

The doctor can prescribe a microbial bath emollient (Dermol 600), antibacterial and antifungal cream as well as an emollient to moisturise the area.

You may have a condition called Lichen Planus and this is very hard to treat.  Never goes away completely, but can be managed.

Don't wear manmade fibres.  Wear cotton underwear.  And no tight trousers.
