Discoloration

After mowing the lawn today I came in to take a shower.  I noticed that my lower abdomen had a purplish color to it and my penis was dark and purple also.  I have had the purple hue in my abdomen before but have never noticed my penis being dark.  The discoloring goes away after a while but this one kinda scares me when it gets into that area.  I take meds like Plavix and others for blood pressure and cholesterol.  I am a 67 yr old male in other wise pretty good condition.  I have made an appointment with my doc but it's not for a while.  I have had a stint put in my lower abdomen in the artery that supplies blood to the right leg about 5 or 6 yrs ago.  This is somewhat concerning.

Thank you for your assessment of my problem.  I have contacted my family doctor and have an appointment with him this month.  The discoloration was gone soon after but I still would like to know what caused it.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Given your history and symptoms, you should get an immediate evaluation done from a dermatologist and get the possibility of the stents of the abdominal artery not working properly ruled out. Sudden discoloration of the abdominal area and penis indicates that the blood supply to the area is being compromised.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
