Doxycycline causing weight loss

Hi there,
I'm an adult male in my late 20s. I recently noticed a cloudy discharge in my urine but no discomfort, pain, burning, etc. I went to my physician who prescribed doxycycline for  a week. First thing I'm a virgin and am not sure how I got urethritis. I read somewhere that excess pressure during masturbation sometimes (albeit rarely) causes this.Could that be a reason? What are the other possible causes for someone in my situation? The fact that I saw this discharege as one of the symptoms for penile cancer scared me straight. And even though my physican took a look at my penis and did not suggest meeting a specialist, would you still recommend that I consult a urologist or a dermatologist to make sure everything is OK? And I've been taking doxy for the last 5 days and don't notice any discharge in my urine anymore. But, looks like I have lost around 4-5 pounds. I have not faced any other side-effects associated with this drug. I have two more days to go with doxy. Is this weight loss normal. Can I safely continue for another two days?

hello,
i was interested to read your comment on losing weight while on the drug doxycycline.
All i can add to your interest (i am a patient myself) is that while i was on the drug for around 2 years i believe it started to affect me mentally and actually put me off eating as much as i usually would so i experienced a weight loss also.
i dont know if this is any help at all but i just thought u should know you are not the only one who has.

Yes.  I have no idea why you lost weight, but it isn't from doxycycline.  I don't know where you read that a discharge is a sign of penile cancer, but I suggest you avoid that site, because it isn't.  I'm not sure whether the cloudy urine represents a discharge, or just something in the urine.  What that is would be found in the urinalysis that your doctor no doubt performed.  You should ask.  If your doctor isn't sure of the diagnosis, I advise you to consult a urologist.  But cancer does not appear to be on the list of possibilities.

Best.
