Dry Soap Skin Layer

Two days ago I used a bathing gel on dry skin (the skin its not dry by itself, I just mean "not wet"). The fact is that I used the bathing gel, and left it there, didn't use water afterwards to take it off. Went to sleep, and got up with the skin like really dry and cracky. I suspect the dry gel has made a thin layer on my skin and it feels like it, like I have a layer of soap that avoids me from feeling direct skin touch. Apart from that, the skin looks like dry and wrinkles too much.
I have used moisterising cream, and have bathed intensively, and tried to take the gel out, but I just can't get it off. Any idea how to take it? Besides, i have a wound, and my flesh is exposed and i didn't want to try alcohol for that reason, nor other products.

I would appreciate your help a lot.

I thank you very much your help.

Almost two weeks have passed since I first identified the problem. It is now completely solved. By itself. I applied lots of things anyway. But I think the answer came with time. I had literally, as I said before, a layer of bathing gel on my skin. After a week it started to come off, even from the wound, which had continued to heal despite the difficulty. My skin is now normal again and the dryness and lack of feeling was given by the layer of gel above the skin, which after a while I could easily tear off and rip out, with my own fingers, just like a wrapper (a very sticky one anyway).

Again I thank you very much for your help and concern

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
For such skin, avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Wash the area with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area and see if this improves. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid after consulting a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
