Hello,
It is true that gall bladder disease can be aggravated during pregnancy. The high levels of hormones (estrogens) in pregnancy cause the bile to be much thicker, thus increasing the tendency of gallstones to form. In addition, other hormones (progesterone) inhibit the gallbladder's normal ability to contract, further increasing the likelihood of stone formation. Gall bladder surgery can be delayed upto child birth but if the symptoms are severe, then an urgent surgery may be needed. I would suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist in that case. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Hello again! :) So i went to the ER last night because my rash ended up breaking out into hives on top!! The Doc said he thnks it could be fungal related. So while I was waiting in the room I began to get a sharp and intense pain in my right side! They didnt give me a for sure answer, but he thinks it has to do wit my gallbladder. If that is the case what am i going to do about the pain, im only 23 wks and from what i hear you cant get any treatment until you give birth. Please help me I am in so much pain, the painkiller tylenol #3 codein) is not giving me the relief i expected. Im scarred that being in so much pain that i will go into preterm labor or that it will affect the baby. Any suggestions? The Doc from the ER was very unhelpful and rude!!
Hello,
It is advisable not to use any antifungals during pregnancy without any confirmation of diagnosis as none of the drugs are considered safe during pregnancy. I would suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
Hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Thank you for the response. I asked my doctor if it could be scabies and she said no. I was leaning toward the fungal infection, being pregnant what can i take for some itching relief in the meantime?
Hello,
Since all three of you are having it so it can be either scabies or fungal infection which is contagious. Rash in scabies is very itchy and can disrupt life. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs. Please consult a dermatologist and get an evaluation done.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
