Elidel's effect on atrophied skin?
I have read that Elidel can possibly help to reverse skin atrophy, and definitely does not cause any itself. Is this true, & how so? If not, then what effect would Elidel have on thin skin that has suffered atrophy from the use of strong topical steroid creams?

Elidel or pimecrolimus, an immunosuppressant, works by decreasing the body's immune system to help slow down the growth of atopic dermatitis on the skin. There are not enough studies that show its effect on skin that has suffered atrophy from the use of strong topical steroid creams at present. It is recommended that Elidel is used exactly as prescribed and only on skin areas affected with eczema. Take care and best regards.
