Eye Skin Area - Irritation

Good Evening,

I'm not quite sure if this question go's here. Sorry if it doesn't.

Anyway, this is my problem:

A few years ago, I was using a anti-acne cream (peroxiben 5% or 10% can't remember), and it was very strong. Accidently it went on the eye skin area, and burned it a bit. Since then I have like an eye wrinkle under my left eye (skin area), it's very deep, red and can't put nothing on it, only vaseline and nivea cream (the normal one). Well, till now this wasn't a big problem, but I had two back operations not long ago (last year), and I have cried so much and still do. After the second operation that I've had, after some months, the under eye skin became red, irritated, very very dry. I continued applying nivea cream and it was ok. But now, nothing works, it's all day really red (the whole eye skin area), it burns, it's irritated and dry. A big mess. Well, last week I tried Witch Hazel Water, and it made wonders! every hour that passed it became better and better. Then I applied Which Hazel Cream, and worked also splendid. But yesterday, I woke up and my under eye skin was a complete disaster, the skin was swollen, red like fire, burned like fire and a completley mess. I've put which hazel cream again, thinking that maybe I had to do with it, cause maybe during the night I've scratched myself or whatsoever. It worked a little bit,the redness was clearing a bit up, but nothing. Last night I applied instead which hazel water, and this morning it was a little bit better. But I've noticed that everytime that I put which hazel water or cream, it burns like hell, and the skin looks like burned skin and get's red. So I don't know what to do anymore. I went to a dermatalog but said I should apply vaseline, it does relax the burning, but doesn't help with the redness and can't possibly go to work like this. I don't know if the which hazel has got to do with it, or it's just my imagination and it was me scratching myself during i was asleep.

I would really like to know what's happening, if I should continue applying which hazel and if the answer is no, what shall I do?.

Thank you for your time.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

At this point, you should discontinue any cream or medication.  Orofacial dermatitis is usually characterized by an uncomfortable burning sensation and a rash that may appear around the eyes, nose, mouth or forehead.  The cause is usually unknown but can be exacerbated by creams with steroids on it. have this evaluated by your dermatologist for proper management. This condition is difficult  to treat effectively and has a tendency to recur. It often requires several months of antibiotic treatment.

Take care and keep us posted.
