Flaking skin on genitals

hi
For about two years now I have had flaking skin on my scrotum and there are two dark marks by the folds of my legs. When wet, the flaking skin disappears and comes back within 24 hours. its also very itchy. also there is no hair growth on the dark marks and if scratched for a long time, red bumps start to form but go away after a few hours. do you know what this is and how I can cure it?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like tinea cruris or fungal infection. Wash the area daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. The damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels. Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
