Frequent daily hives all over extremities..

Hello all,

I am a 23 year old female who has been experiencing frequent hives for the past 7 months. I have not changed detergents, lotions, or shampoos and I eat 'clean' and healthy (lots of veggies, fruits, lean meats, and fish). I am not on any medication and do not have any known allergies to any foods or medications either. I'll get occasional seasonal allergies but that's about it...

My hives come and go but have been almost daily lately on my arms and thighs (upper legs). They are not itchy but if I do itch them, they sometimes band together and form welts that become very itchy and HOT. I can feel the burning to the touch as well as underneath my skin. They are becoming more frequent and embarrassing because when I sit, it looks like bad rash of spots all over the tops of my legs.

I'm a student and do not have health insurance to see a doctor but am seeking any guidance or knowledge of how to find an answer..somewhat concerned :/

Idiopathic urticaria. Try calamine lotion for external application.
Internal treatment would be antihistamines as recommended by your Doc.

Hi and welcome. Medications can cause hives. Ibuprofen, asprine and other OTC medications as well as food.
