Hello,
Two possibilities are there for such lumps. First possibility is of infected hair follicle around the lip which may be causing folliculitis. The second possibility is of cold sores. Pain, burning, tingling, or itching occurs at the infection site before the sores appear. Then clusters of blisters erupt which break down. You need to get some investigations like sample from the sores to identify the virus, culture analysis, Tzanck smear, antigen and antibody studies and blood sampling for antibody studies done to confirm the diagnosis. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thank you so much! You are the only one that helped me among many forums...
My symptoms aren't as discribed by you for the cold sore, so I think it's the latter.
Right now I'm studying for a test so I don't have time for doctors... that's why I registered to this site, for quick help.

Thanks again!
Gilad.

Hey,

Should I be worry? Is it gonna heal by Itself? What is this? It's Itchy and painful...

Thanks,
Gilad.

Hello,
The symptoms are suggestive of cold sore. Since it is a viral infection, so it will run its course and no antibiotics are needed. Treatment is usually symptomatic and consist of anti inflammatory pain killers for relieving the pain and topical anesthetic such as viscous lidocaine. Please consult a dermatologist to get them prescribed. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.

Thank you very much...
I've never had any symptoms of herpes, I didn't know I have it, my girlfriend doesn't have it either and now she thinks I'm cheating on her. Last week I had a real bad case of dryness on my lips (and maybe some skin was "off" so viruses could get inside my body) and my girlfriend put her lipstick on my lip (lipstick for dry lips, not the other use...). Could this lipstick be "infected"?Is that what gave me the herpes? I had a slight fever last week (my last fever was before 2 years ago), I read on the web that a fever might cause an "herpe's eruptions". Could I had herpes so long and I see it now for the first time because of the fever?
I'm embarrassed to get out like this... I am giving a private lesson today (physics) and my client would probably be repulsed by me... Can I put a bandage to cover it or it will just make things worse?

Thanks,
Gilad.
