Hard lumps under skin

Hi I'm 17 and I haven't had sex, although I have had oral sex with a partner I am a little concerned about having an STD but this was almost 3 years ago and the lumps started appearing about a year onwards. The lumps are solid and have no colour or a head. It does not itch or hurt unless pressure is applied. No fluid or puss exerts and only one appears every 2 months or so and lasts for about 2 weeks and goes. I haven't tried squeezing them as I feel this wouldn't help. They have appeared on the stem of my penis and in the pubic region. Any advice? Thanks

With your described symptoms, folliculitis and sebacious glands are differential. Definite diagnosis of your condition will only be reached if a physical examination and complete medical history is known. This is one limitation of diagnosing over the internet. Since there is no chance of actually examining the lesion, what is discussed as possible diagnosis are only differentials. This is why it is always recommended that you have this evaluated by your doctor for proper diagnosis and management.

Ok thanks a lot for your help much appreciated. Just one more thing, what other symptoms may appear and how sure are you that it is what I have? Thanks again

I do understand your concern about this. But with your age and your absence of sexual contact, infection and sexually transmitted diseases are ruled out and you have nothing to be worried about. This is more likely due to hormonal changes at this point of your life. Try to avoid squeezing or popping them to prevent secondary infection. Since hair on this area can be pulled out unintentionally, it is difficult to avoid such occurrence. However, if other symptoms occur and if it persists, it is best that you have this checked out for direct examination and proper evaluation. Otherwise, everything is fine.

Hi,

This could be due to hair follicles and sebaceous glands. These  are  normal part of the skin's anatomy and are commonly found on the penile shaft. They may be visible as small nodules or might only be felt as small lumps in the skin. They also have a tendency to recur.

Take care and regards.
