Has anyone else ever had this and found out what it was?

About 18 years ago (yes that long), I started to have an itch right inside the upper right side of my vulva. One tiny spot. I took everything over the counter for itching in the groin area. Nothing helped. It continued to worsen. It spread to the whole upper area inside the top of the vulva. Doctors tried to tell me it was an allergic reaction. Bull. It continued to get worse. It spread to the outside of the vagina on both sides. Just itch, itch, itch. But there was nothing you could see except red. Then it got to where it was blistered. I have had two biopsies with no explanation as to what it might be. Several years later now, it has spread to only the outside where the panty line is. But it is "climbing" upward to the bend of my legs/groin area. Take a severe allergic reaction, add poison ivy, and chicken pox. Now times that by about 100 and you get a very SLIGHT idea of how bad the itching is. I have tried literally everything. It seems the flesh itself sloughs and dies every few hours and has to be scratched off. To the point of removing several layers of skin and resulting in a very painful raw mess. It doesn't matter how much I wash or bathe. At times I start to itch severely and I see huge red welts all over. No doctor has been able to help me. it is excruciating. I am desperate for help.

This sounds so miserable- so sorry to hear about what has been happening and that you are not getting any help!  Have you had any tests done, or have all the doctors said that it's an allergic reaction?  Have you had allergy testing done?

Thank you for your response. Like I mentioned, I have had two painful biopsies done. Not allergy testing because this is no allergy. I am yet again requesting a female dermatologist and see if she can find anything. But I'm not going to hold my breath. They all seem to dismiss it so easily. I know you are not supposed to wish bad on anyone, but it would benefit them to see what it feels like. Perhaps and only then might they be a little compassionate and not be so quick to dismiss.
