I am only 14 years old and I have excess hair EVERYWHERE! On my stomache, upper lip, back, legs, arm, butt, and even a little facial hair. I really wanna be active for high school and play sports,go to parties, and date but I'm just so uncomfortable with myself. I can't have a regular high school life because of this and I can't talk to my parents because they never listen to me. I am a girl with plans for the future and I'm so scared that the future isn't gonna work out for me. Please I'm begging you somebody help me out.

It is normal for some hair to be present on all body parts except the soles and palms. The different methods of hair removal are shaving, chemical depilation by using depilatory creams, temporary epilation by plucking, tweezing, waxing and permanent epilation by electrolysis, thermolysis and laser hair removal. But if the hair growth is excessive then hirsutism has to be ruled out. Hirsutism is usually caused by hormonal imbalance and in women PCOS is one of the leading causes of hirsutism and infertility. For this, Apart from these hair removal options, there are some medicines available for treating hirsutism in PCOS. These include oral contraceptives which contain estrogen and progesterone and suppress ovulation, Metformin, antiandrogens which cause androgen blockage( eg spironolactone, flutamide, cyproterone acetate), oral corticosteroids and Finasteride.

If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
