Help with probable PODS

I am almost 40 female who has been suffering with a rash around my nose and mouth.  I have been to the dermatologist and the recommended Metrogel and then Finacea have only made my condition worsen.  I am allergic to tetracyclines and sulfa drugs so I did the 30 day/2 times of erythromyocin but didn't help.  I have a sample of Diprolene that had been given for poison and it clears up the rash but was not approved by the dermatologist, probably because it is just a temporary fix and can make the PODS (what I think I have) worse.  Derm thinks I have rosacea but nothing like my mom's or sister's was.  She has now prescribed another oral antibiotic, Ampicillin 500 mg twice daily which I am going to try.  I even switched birth control but to no avail.  Am using Salicylic Acid face wash which was also recommended by derm, but I'm thinking maybe I should just stay away from the topical all together???  ANY suggestions would be helpful.  Thank you!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Doxycycline is the preferred antibiotic for perioral dermatitis but since you are allergic to it, it cannot be used. In unresponsive and granulomatous forms, oral isoterinoin may also be considered. Pimecrolimus cream can also be used. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
