How to treat Dandruff?

So I got a cousin who has (persistent) Dandruff.
She says she had it for a long time now.

Early 2012, she used this certain anti-dandruff shampoo and it worked well, but after a few months of using it, the dandruff came back and seemed to have become stubborn. Now, no matter what kind of anti-dandruff shampoo she uses, it won't disappear.

She used to have thick hair, now it seemed to have thinned a bit, as well, because of hairfall which may be related to it.

Any advice??

It could be seborrheic dermatitis.  I have had the best luck with a neem shampoo.  Also the cause of my problem was malnutrition from an absorptive disorder (Celiac).  Improving the diet to eliminate junk food and increasing vegetables and lean meat and decreasing empty carbs will probably help.  Take a probiotic and odorless garlic or oregano oil pills to get the systemic flora in balance too.  If the skin is oily, rinsing in vinegar water can help.  The shampoo that might work is Nystatin shampoo, but try neem first.

hi and welcome. Something is causing the dandruff and it might be psoriasis or excema, at this point it would be best to see a dermatoligist to make sure its not the average run of the mill dandruff.
