I don't know what these bumps are and they're getting worse.

A little over a week ago I got a few small bumps on my right hand. Not very uncomfortable or anything so I didn't think to much about it, but since then they have spread all over both hands, on my knees, elbows, and are starting to show up on my feet and they itch terribly now. I've been trying to use Cortizone cream and it's not helping. I call all the local dermatologists in the area and none can even see me until at least Feb. I'm going to attach some photo of my hand to see if it will help anyone identify what it might could be. Please let me know if you know what it is or what I can do to help stop it. Thanks in advance.

John

Hi,
I've had what looks like the same thing for the last few days.  Itchy spots on hands, knees and elbows.  I saw the Dr today, who advised it's probably result of a viral infection, which will clear up by itself after a week or two.  For the itching, she prescribed Telfast antihistamine as my over the counter Clarityn wasn't enough.

I hope this helps others!

I have been suffering from the same itchy bumps for a few days now. I am not taking any medication, have not changed anything like detergent or soap...not allergic to anything to my knowledge...so far...have no clue what it is. Going to the doc on Monday, i guess, if it does not go away by then. I also have them on my elbow and feet (mostly my heels). Have been to a water park/amusement park recently....could have picked up something there...
Have you got a diagnosis yet?

It looks very similar to a rash I have been getting since I was a kid. I think it started when I was 12 or 13 and I've had it off and on since then (about 20 years). I has gotten better with age. I used to get a ton of red bumps on my fingers (mostly on the knuckles), elbows, toes and rarely a few on my knees. There were times I would have over a hundred on my hands. They were usually not painful unless I bumped them. The ones close to the fingernail or tips of fingers were the worst. The ones on my elbows and toes would itch. I have seen a few dermatologists over the years and have had 2 or 3 skin biopsy's with no real answer. One doctor suggested Granuloma annulare, which sort of fits, but not really. I was also tested for Lupus (discoid) and had somewhat positive results on the first test and negative results on another test. The last doctor gave me a fancy word for "you are getting a rash and we don't know why". It hasn't been as bad over the last few years and I don't know why. I still do get some bumps every month.
Hope it helps to at least know there are others out there. I hope you get an answer.

i see your pic... that looks exactly what i had.
i been taking clenbuterol which is asthma medication, and i developed that same itchy bumpy skin rash on my hands and knuckles and elbow too. you may be having an alergic reaction to a medication you have been taking regularly?
stop taking the meds and edventally the alergic reaction will go away on its own :)

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to contact dermatitis, allergic reaction, pompholyx or scabies bites. Scabies is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
