MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to tension or migraine headache or temporal arteritis. It is an inflammatory disease of blood vessels (most commonly large and medium arteries of the head) and is a form of vasculitis. It most commonly occurs in the head, especially in the temporal arteries that branch from the carotid artery of the neck.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I have this.  It seems to be food allergies.  Get tested for food allergies.  Use Nizoral shampoo 2-3 days a week.  Otherwise use Neutrogena shampoo or Dove brand.  These brands are free of gluten, which is one of the things I am allergic to.  You might have Celiac disease, so gluten may be one of the allergens you need to be tested for.  There are blood tests for it.  You can also take probiotics like Aleve to regain your health.  You can have Celiac disease even without intestinal problems, but intestinal problems often cause skin problems, and doctors had no idea what I was talking about when I had this problem 20 years ago.  I wanted to pound an ice pick into my head.  They thought I was crazy and gave me strong medication to control itching, which didn't work.  Neither did their topical antiinflammatory products that they swore by for every itching patient.  So if you get tested and then change your diet, you can avoid all the health problems I had to deal with later because doctors were too lazy to help me find the answer.
