I have back acne...

This is seriously embarrasing since all of my friends have amazing skin, I've tried to get rid of scars also by lemon juice, home made products and I can't seem to get rid of my scars/acne. It's almost summer and I need to wear my bikini so I can tan, its just weird knowing I have these bumps everywhere. I also bruise easily which means that they soon turn my skin into a nasty bruised area, I really want to know how to get rid of this fast, and get rid of the pestering pimples too. Help?

Hello,
Back and shoulder acne are quite difficult to treat compared to acne on other parts of the body. Thoroughly wash your body everyday, especially the back and shoulder part using a back brush and frequently change your bed sheet, as it is conducive for bacterial growth. Engage in a diet that is low in sugar and fat but is rich in vitamins. This prevents acne by preventing the buildup of excess oil on the skin. Also refrain from touching or squeezing your shoulder acne. Also try to keep your hair free of dandruff by using good antidandruff shampoos. You can also apply benzoyl peroxide creams or clindamycin cream on the acne.

If the symptoms persist, then oral antibiotics may be needed. For the scars of acne, treatments with acids and chemical peels can be effective but can take a while for the skin to totally revert to its normal color.  Microdermabrasion can also be done, but this might require several sessions.  Skin resurfacing using lasers is also an option.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello,
Lime juice can help in decreasing the scars a bit but it is not the definitive treatment. Topical treatments with acids and chemical peels can be effective but can take a while for the skin to totally revert to its normal color.  Microdermabrasion can also be done, but this might require several sessions.  Skin resurfacing using lasers is also an option.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Hello,
If the acne are precipitated by your periods then it may be due to that they are hormone related. With the help of the doctor, the treatment of oral antibiotics, contraceptive pills, retinoids, cortisone injections can be your choices.

Aloe vera provides mositurisation to the skin but it is not very helpful for scar reduction. You can however get creams containing vitamin E prescribed for acne reduction.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I've heard that the laser thing takes an EXTREMELY long time for it to heal. I have long hair and if I put it up or have it down it always touches my neck and back, I clean my back, shoulders, face, chest all the time and they clear up somtimes but then I hit my period and then it takes weeks for it to clear up again. And then I started to try lemon juice and it bleached my skin. Does Aloe Vera work for the scars or is it just for healing the pimples themselves?
