Iron Scar

hello. I have a big iron scar on my thigh from about ten years ago. It left a smooth, but a darker tone then the rest of my leg. If I got a laser pigmentation procedure done, will it be less noticeable??

Hi

You may ask your physician about microdermabrasion here. This may help in improving skin tones and may help eradicate dead skin. As for laser therapy, this may be of use also but look for a dermatologist with a good experience in terms of performing laser procedures. Laser therapy may burn skin and cause discolorations also. Bleaching creams may be used also but with close supervision as this may be abrasive.

Hi

Laser has been used to help improve discolorations from inflammation and they have also been helpful in minimizing noticeable spider veins or telengiectasias over the face and other parts of the body. Laser may be more expensive and they may require more sessions for effective results. This depends on the extent and depth of the scar. For small scars, then Laser may be helpful. Microdermabrasion may even help.

How large is this scar?
