Irritation around groin (no visible issue)

I have been feeling discomfort in the area around my upper inside thighs, groin and across to my belt line for about a week.   It has a sensation of heat (almost like a slight burning) - (however when I visibly inspect the area there are no signs of any visible rashes or such).

A while ago I had a yeast infection and the dr gave me some creme (on the penis).

I checked for pubic lice and have no visible signs of any such materials (eggs, nits, droppings in underpants or lice themselves).

Not particularly worse at night or day - cloth positioning makes a difference (ie if I "reposition" my clothing it can be better or worse).

Wash with warm water only (learned years back to keep chemicals away from the sensistive regions).

It isn't anything serious (herpes etc).  I was thinking perhaps the yeast infection might still be active or recurrent? (no rash as yet).

Regards
Steve

Hi Vanessa, thankyou for your reply.

No other symptoms that I can clearly think of.  I was thinking after my earlier message and it's almost like a prickle heat, it isn't specifically itchy, I do not feel a need to scratch and scratch, I more so want to adjust my clothes to reposition them.

Definitely influenced by my clothing, if I wear jocks the area where the elastic sits in the groove with my upper leg and groin is more sensitive to the symptoms.  Same with pants with a belt - when it sits hard against the low section of my stomach it can be a little sensitive.  Once I reposition the sensation softens immediately (and nearly goes completely).

No rash as such, maybe a little irritation on my lower stomach (above my penis) which looks like it might be a heat pimple - event tho it is not hot at the moment).

I've thought about recurrence of yeast, pubic lice or scabies - however I don't think it is lice or scabies (as there are no signs of lice at all and scabes leave tracks from my reading) - also I believe lice would be consistantly and very very itchy and get worse and worse - I have felt this for about a week now but it is not getting specifically worse - atleast not acutely worse.

Any thoughts?

Many thankyous.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

This may be a case of irritant dermatitis or contact dermatitis. You have noted that the pruritus usually occurs on the groin line and upper leg. Microscopic evaluation of skin scrapings from the area may help rule out fungal infections. Irritant dermatitis may not always present with a rash. You may apply 1% Fluocinonide cream on the affected areas and see if the itchiness subsides. Avoid tight underpants and keep the area clean and dry. Oral antihistamines may be taken for itchiness. However consult your primary physician before taking any oral medications.

Do you have other associated signs and symptoms?

further to my post; the irritation on the groin line and upper leg is the most prevelant, across the belt is minimal to none.
