Is taking vinegar baths a good option for follicultis

I'm considering taking baths with a few cups of Apple cider vinegar thrown in.  I have not seen too much of discussed online, although for me since I have this foliculitus everywhere (hands, arms, legs, penis, feet)  I find it to be the best solution(compared to compress').  my Doctor wasn't too helpful and said it would go away, but it's been a few months, and i'm getting these puss filled areas where everytime i pop them i get puss squirted in my face, and also these really red scabby areas on the side of my hands that look like I hurt them karate chopping too much.  I wanna do something very efficient and I don't care what it takes pain wise or discomfort wise.  A little about myself in case it helps is, I'm 21, athletic build(exercise 6 times a week), I do work and go to college for engineering, I'm very prone to stress so it is possible this is stress related perhaps.  Overall antibiotics didn't help, and I just want a really good home remedy to finish this thing off.  Thanks in advance.

Oh and Malasezzia Pityrosporum folliculitis is called "exercise acne", since it is worsened by humidity and sweating (and then not showering as soon as possible).  You absolutely MUST shower shortly after exercising.

You need to check what is causing this.   If antibiotics have not worked then there is a chance that this is caused by yeast and this would need to be checked and confirmed.   If it is caused by Malasezzia Pityrosporum yeast  then antibiotics will be of no use and may even make it worse.  Bacteria and yeasts compete for space on your skin so if you are killing the bacteria with antibiotics then the yeast is able to grow with even more ease.  If it is Malasezzia, this is treatable but the approach would be a little bit different.

Let me know how it goes for you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Folliculitis is basically inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).

Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. You can take baths in appl;e cider vinegar water but it will not hasten up the healing. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. Also avoid scratching the area as then you spread the infection and scarring also occurs.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
