Dont know what it is

I have a lot of redness and chafing in my groin area. There is a lot of itchiness all around my penis (mostly in my groin area) but my penis isn't sore or anything. I have noticed a few bumps but nothing that would resemble pubic lice or any other kind of STD. I feel it might be poison ivy or something but I have no clue how I could have gotten it. I use powder and it seems to help with the itchiness but doesn't help for long and does nothing for the irritation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
From the symptoms it can be a fungal infection which is contagious and can e transmitted after skin to skin contact. Wash the area daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. The damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels. Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment. If the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi, Thanks for your query.
You are suffering from chafing in groin area…..
You have not mentioned that are you having any disease or no? like Diabetes.
Also any history of exposure?.....
Your complaint suggests that you might be having some ailment which requires thorough investigations and an expert specialist’s consultation to rule out infections (fungal).

Please, do not treat it with just a dusting powder and consult your doctor for further workup.
Wish you good health.
