Itchy Rash

Hi,

I've been getting some intensley itchy bumps appearing over my skin for the last few days. At first they aren't raised, however as i scartch them they become raised. Not coloured or red until I start scratching.

It is predominantly on my legs and buttocks, but occasionally arms as well. So far, nothing on my back, head, hands, genitals, chest, stomach or feet.

I do not have any fever or cold symptoms.

The only thing that I can think of really is scabbies, however from everything I have read this generally starts out armpits, hands, etc- all of which I have had no itching at all.

Is this just an allergy? I have not changed washing powder, is it perhaps a food allergy?

Any help would be appreciated!

I went to a health clinic today which solely deal with STD diagnosis and treatment. They said that it wasn't scabies- also got tested for syphilis, etc and they confirmed it was not an STD.

Chatted with the doctor for a bit and he was a bit perplexed. I haven't changed cleaning products, habits- anything! He said wait to see if it subsides by next week and if it doesn't then may need to investigate further.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be insect bites, contact dermatitis or scabies. Although the sites are not typical of scabies but yet the diagnosis needs to be ruled out.

Scabies is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
