Itchy all over

Hi,

in the last 4 months or so i've had an annoying itch, it's been my legs mostly and usually only at night, it doesnt keep me up or anything like that, it's just really annoying, thing is i've started getting tattoos about 6 months ago and my mind went a bit vivid when i was trying to search to find out what could be causing this itch and i came across a page for hepatitis...

i havent had unprotected sex, havent taken drugs, and havent came in to contact with anyone elses blood, and my tattoos (to the best of my knowledge) were with new needles and fresh ink... since reading this last night the itching has became much worse, and is all over my body now..

i'm only assuming... but surely this can be just stress?

i work in an emergency call centre and the winter is always hectic for us, plus i quit drinking in october aswell.

whats best for this? i have an appointment with my GP on monday because i was convinced it was hep c, now i'm thinking it's stress or something (or atleast... hoping it is)

there are no visible symptoms (other than the scratch marks on my right leg from scratching at it), it's been a cold winter here, but it wasnt too bad when the itching started.

i have hayfever and dust allergies, other than that i dont believe i have any other allergies.

i have a feeling in my adomen that i imagine is what indigestion feels like (i've never had indigestion before.. so i dont know) - this feeling comes and goes.. it's not sore just a kind of burning/nagging feeling. it only seems to come when i'm thinking about the itching etc tho...

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Are there other symptoms present like rash, bumps or yellowing of skin/eyes? Other differentials for itchy skin include dry skin, which results from environmental factors including hot or cold weather with low humidity levels, long-term use of air conditioning or central heating; skin disorders;  internal diseases; allergies and drug reactions. Many skin conditions cause itchy skin, including psoriasis, dermatitis, scabies, or hives. The rash of liver disease (such as in hepa c), malabsorption of wheat, kidney failure, iron deficiency anemia, and thyroid problems  affects the whole body, rather than one specific area.

Have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management. Complete medical history, physical examination and laboratory tests will help with the diagnosis. Take care and do update us with your appointment with your doctor.
