Itchy hands and feet

I have the same issue as a nursing student who wrote you earlier.   I didn't see the answer to her question and am using some of her great description!  For over a week my hands (the palms and between my fingers) and feet (bottom and between toes) will begin to itch periodically without warning. When I scratch them it only gets worse, the itching is intensified and they begin to burn. I have tried multiple things to relieve it but to no avail. It starts and stops continully throughout the day and there is no one indicator of what might be causing it.  I have tried Benadryl and creams applied to the skin, they do not phase the itching. I have not changed anything in diet or medications I can think of.

I too have extremely itchy ands and feet.. I am currently 32 weeks. It has been driving me insane I Google itchy hands and feet while pregnant and a condition popped up  obstetric cholestasis or OC I'm concerned because I have a 6 year old and was also extremely itchy with him but never thought to mention it. I meet with my doctor next week and I plan know discussing this with her what I've found about OC is its your liver stops filtering.properly and bile spills in your blood stream. Your palms of your hands and feet get itchy (but not limited to) and often times gets worse at night it is a condition that should be monitored and often times doctors induce early. They don't know why but it has a link to still births. I plan on getting the blood tests done it doesn't hurt to be sure.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Have you by this time sought consult with a dermatologist or your primary physician?

Irritant  dermatitis may cause some of your symptoms. This may be due to exposure to certain irritants like gloves, rubber, lotion , abrasive soaps.

Avoiding the irritant and using a mild hypoallergenic soap to wash the area and mild creams ( not lotions) to moisturize the involved areas may help. You may also discuss the use of topical steroid medications and antihistamines with your physician to relieve the itchiness. Application of cold compress over the area may help alleviate the itchiness and burning.

Some fungal infections and other dermatitis like an allergic contact dermatitis may also cause this.

I do hope everything is better by now.
