Itchy red bumps spreading under armpits
A few days ago I got an itchy red bump under my right armpit and within days the right armpit and upper under arm has several red itchy bumps and the left armpit is also developing a few (not like the right). I have been putting Neosporine and Cortizone cream on it but it does not seem to be getting much better. Any ideas? I am unable to see a doctor for financial reasons at this time. Thank you!
I'm scheduled to see a doctor for itchy bumps that appear mostly like mosquito bites, but are not. Although I don't know what in the world is happening I do know of an old school remedy- use Vicks Vap Rub on these marks and it'll HEAL the itch, burn, and marking!! Some heal sooner than later, but they Always heal within a day!
I've had this issue for a while and have finally linked the problem to the use of certain deodorants, specifically ones that contain Alluminium chloride. I feel I may have an allergic reaction to this. I now use alluminium chloride free deoderant and haven't experienced the issue. (Could help some of you hopefully!)
My 7-yo has the same bumps and they go away and come back on their own. I thought you should know that a family member got the hot tub folliculitis which wasn't resolved by two courses of antibiotics or two weeks of twice daily antibiotics. What finally did work was Lemon Myrtle essential oil from Young Living which has antibiotic properties but good to use externally and internally (10 drops a day) as long as you want with no risk of becoming intolerant to it like you can get with antibiotics, and also no nasty fungal infections from overuse.
Hello i am a 13 year old girl. My sister and my friend all went in the hot tub one day for 3 hours. The next day we all got these rashes under our armpit. At first it was just a bump and then it started to spread. It was weird tho because i also got an ear infection. I told my mom about it the next day and she called the advise nurse. The advise nurse said it was hot tub folliculitis. I have only had it 2 days but i have been putting neosporn and taking benadryl the benadryl just seemed to make the itching stop, but the doctor gave me some ointment that is supposed to make it go away. Also, you might have the shingles because symptoms include: Headache, Sensitive to light, Flu-like symptoms without fever, and a small area rash usually on one side of your body.
I'm a male with most of these problems and I recently went to a doctor. He told me to use tinactin it is a topical cream at any walgreens or cvs. I also got antibiotics from him, It has helped a lot and the itching has almost completely stopped. The bottle says it is for athletes foot and other fungal related things. My doctor has also said it was probably from switching body washes. Now I use Dove men's unscented body wash and Dove unscented deodorant, He had also said if the spots and redness occur again that I should switch to another brand of unscented body wash/deodorant. But the cream has helped dry out and reduce the amount of red pimple like spots and redness I really hope this helps some of you guys!!
Hello, I'm also a 13 year old girl with the same problem, When this happened to to me I was really freaked out and thought I was the only one with this problem, but now I know I'm not. I have one at the moment and it hurts but thats ok because I know it will slowly go away, I got this first at a sleepaway camp and we lived in close courters. Is it posable I got this there?
I'm a female in my 30s and have been suffering with this prolem for many, many years (much to my annoyance!). When I first noticed it, I was just carrying out my usual wash routine and felt a sore spot underneath my left arm. On taking a look I noticed what looked like a pimple. I squeezed it and stuck a plaster on it and thought nothing of it. A few months later it returned, only this time a lot bigger and filled with pus (this happed quite quickly). I went to the doctor who drained it and gave me some antibiotics. That seemed to do the trick. However, a few years later it returned. It had swelledto the size of a golf ball within a matter of days, so I decided to go to the emergency department at my local hospital. One the nurse had a look, i was admitted the very same day and (not to scare you), was booked in for minor surgery that very evening! I'm glad I did, because I felt so much better afterwards. I have since done some research on a condition called hydradenitis superativa (a recurring infection of the sweat glands - my surgeon explained to me that the majority (if nott all) people with this are stuck with it for life! :(

I know you said dont say go to a Dr so I was wondering since its been a few months if its cleared up or anything. Not even sure if youre still reading on the post or not. My 3 year old just lifted his arm and I noticed a bunch of pimple like bumps under it. He hasnt mentioned any itching so I dont know. I will try benedryl cream and see if that helps. Doesnt chicken pox start with a heat type rash under the armpits?
Hello! I'm a 13 year old boy with a similar problem I've had this red lump underneath my armpit for almost 2 years now i think its from deodorant. Anyway since it recently changed to summer i had been sweating a lot more and for that reason weird non smelling liquid had came out of my armpit area i dunno what it was but it was really annoying. A few days after that i noticed i had grown some additional lumps i thought they'd go away soon so i just left them. But the day after i grew more and then after that my friend invited me to his birthday party it was so sunny that day and i was sweating like mad! When i came home after that i noticed i had grown an additional 2 big lumps but then.... The day after that i looked in the mirror and it turned out i had 20 lumps all together it was horrible they were itchy and some of them had a weird dot in them. I wanted to consult a Doctor but i didn't want my family to know (since my parents are really mean). So i tried googling my problems away but i couldn't find anything i hope this helps anyone with the same problem as me...and please if you can help don't say stuff like "Go to a doctor" because i really can't! Thankyou.

Hello. I have no idea on how to stop it but i am 13 years old and have aqquired the same problem almost 2 weeks ago and all its done is spread on my armpits. No matter what i do i cant seem to get it to go away. ive been using the same, well everything forever! and I don't know what the problem is. i even changed what i ate, and it didnt work. Did it ever clear up for you? My dad says its probably my razor blade but i just changed it the other day. If it did clear up, I need help on how to get rid of this thing!

From both armpits a clear and odorless liquid seemed to almost pour out of my armpits, especially when they were particularly itchy.
I let the itchy-ness continue for two or three weeks, hoping that it would just go away before I finally decided I needed to go to the doctors three days ago. My doctor took one look at it and told me I had an allergic reaction to something.
This confused me a lot until she explained that I may not be exactly allergic to whatever it was that had caused the reaction (I haven't changed deodorants, soaps, or detergents recently). Before this happened I had shaved my armpits without first using shaving cream, then directly afterward applied some rather harsh scented deodorant. I have very sensitive skin, so that's why I had this reaction.
She prescribed me some antibiotics and told me to take Clairitin or Benadryl for the itching. I also have to use hypoallergenic scent free deodorant and scent free soap. She advised me not to shave my armpits until it clears up because that will further irritate it, and only use deodorant if I absolutely have to.
If you have a similar problem, I suggest you make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible. I actually couldn't get an appointment with my doctor in two weeks and I decided to go to urgent care because I didn't think I could wait much longer, so you could do that instead if you have to. In the meantime, taking either Clairitin or Benadryl for the itching couldn't hurt.

My 6 year old son has a itchy red bumpy rash under only one armpit. It has beeen 4 days, and only all over one underarm. We dont have medical insurance. Any suggestions?
i also have the same problem, i am in a boarding school and dont have alot of resources at my disposal. i went to our schools health center and the doctor said they were probably bug bites, but i just played a football game and wasnt in my bed at all and i noticed another little red bump. i do have neosporin which i rub on it... and i also read in another similar case on this website that the person had a cold while having the bumps. i do to have a cold. any connection between them?

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to sweat dermatitis,eczema or fungal infections.
Most cases respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine,ketaconazole and clotrimazole.You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.
If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist.
