concerned lady

I am 28 years old female, I written to once on another forum for sexual transmitted diseases. It was about a lump that i fouind in my inner upper labia minor were no hair grows. I explained to him that it was small and when i felt it, it felt like it was hard round pimple. This was on my rt side, i had asked him if this was genital herpes he said no. This was about tow months ago. Well I went to the doctor a month ago due to itching vulva and told her about the lump that i had prior and described it she thought it could have been a cyst that got inflammed not herpes. I asking you the same question i think because i noticed when i woke up this morning i felt some swelling and in the center it felt like a hard lump only tender is i squeeze it slightly but it would not break. My vaginal mucus is clear, (normal) It is in the same place were the other one was at but this time on my left side not my right. I talk to a friend of my about my ex boyfriend (he told me that he was clean) And she said that she knows that he is telling the truth because years ago his ex wanted to get back togather with him and he did not want to because she said to him durning the time tha they were not togather (years before they reunited) she had contracted herpes. So he decline because he did not want to get it. I 'm asking if this could be herpes, there is no blister just this one lump, flesh color, no scabing. My last doctor said that she is pretty sure that i do not have herpes I just want to make sure. Thought about taking a blood test not sure how accrute they are. It is possible to get a boil that does not form into a head in the genital area were hair does not grow? (located inncer labia minora wall not by the uretha. (The only thing my doctor from my last visit said that i had was bacterial vaginitis and i was treated for it? Please help ease my mind.

OK.  The lump you describe doesn't sound anything like herpes.  I don't think you need to get a blood test, but you can get one if you're still worried.  They're quite reliable.  But I think it's best if you leave the bump alone and not squeeze, because otherwise it won't go away.

Take care.

I have a few bumps.  They won't pop and I'm worried because I have popped some but these are very hard and some white sandy looking stuff comes out of a tiny, tiny hole.  Because it hurts to pinch, I can't get it out.
Ive had them for years now and they have never been infected.  The others that have come out have had curled pubic hair inside.  It looks weired because 4 or 5 very fine hairs come out along with the white stuff.

I saw the doctor yesterday, and she told me it was not herpes and in fact is was a cyst. When i explained the situation to her she told me that she did not think it was nessary for me to be tested for herpes, and that it was fine. Thank you all for your comments and support. It will take some time to trigger my brain that i should not worry anymore but i guess that is a day to day step.
Thank you all and thank you doctor also for taking the time to answer my concern.

I agree with marymk, it does sound like a sebacious cyst.

Hi,
I have gotten a few of these - on the inner labia, where there is no hair. They are smooth, fleshed colred, and feel hard inside. Went running to the GYN with the first couple. She called them sebacous cysts and said they're no big deal, unless they become painful. She suggested using a sitz bath, or some tthing like that to warm soak them. A couple times they popped - and pus came out, then they went away. A couple time they just gradually went away. One time she tested for bacteria, since I get them often, and nothing was found. I think I get them because I cycle alot (sweating down there), and lately since I haven't been cylcling, I haven't had the problem.

I forgot to mention - I do have herpes, and it's nothing at all like these bumps. I don't even have it in the genital region, it's on my lower back/butt area, and it's more like blisters/sores, that ooze a clear liquid, and then scab over before they heal.

I hope that your right, i have decided to go the doctor's tomrrow i have an appointment. I asked her before if i should have the blood test she said the best test would be a wound culture, but this is not open and its hard, and i am not sure if i just irratated it or what. But i think that i will ask for a blood test to be certian. I was asking my friend that new my ex and she said that she is pretty certain that he does not have it because his ex from when he dated many years ago wanted to get back togather, and he said he did not want to risk infection, but who knows he could have given it to her. But my friend told me that she contracted the virus after they dated i guess i want to have my mind at ease.
I am so scared.

is it normal for women to get tender lumps? in the labia were no hair grows i mean its way in there and its not near the urethra or vagina. What could be the cause of these? I just need some peace and mind. It looks swollen but when i messed with it i could feel something hard in there.
