Itchy spot

Hi,

I have an itchy spot/bump for a year now. I think I got it from a bug bite last summer. I went to my doc a couple months ago and he gave me 2 shots over 2 weeks into the itchy area. The bump and itch went away.
But now it's back again. Maybe it's because I have been scratching the area which my doc told me not to do. But I thought it went away so it wouldn't matter. Anyway, I can't afford health insurance so I am wondering if there is anything I can do without seeing a doc?

I have attached the picture of the bump.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,
Sorry replied to an earlier post first.

It can be folliculitis , boil or due to insect bite. Check the allergens which you may have come in contact with and take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. Also consult a dermatologist as you may need topical as well as oral steroids and get scabies ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello,
Foul smell in the breath is known as halitosis. The smell is due to gases produced by the action of certain bacteria on protein and other substances. These bacteria may be present on your tongue, in your mouth, Gums , nose, tonsils, esophagus or stomach. Tonsils are lymph nodes present in the mouth which when inflamed and calcified(tonsillitis with tinsiloliths) also releases foul smell.

Cleaning the tongue with tongue cleaner, using a mouth wash with mint etc may be tried. If the symptoms persist then get it evaluated from an ENT surgeon.
