MRSA Boils

I have had MRSA several times.  The last one was in my mastoid bone in both ears that was cleared up this past January.
Well I have come down with a boil on the left side of my face next to the eye that was lanced and cultured today.  It hurts like hell and it has a bandage that covers it.  Now it is starting to itch.  I also have a boil on my eyelid that is continuing to grow.  It was nothing last night and now it has become big enough to where the eye looks swollen.  The dermatologist changed my antibiotic from bactrim (which I started Saturday) to doxycycline and told me that because I have been on the bactrim for so long when I had the mastoid infections that I am probably resistant to it. She said I might need to get IV antibiotics in the hospital if things did not improve quickly.  I am blind in my left eye and the boil is on the right eyelid.  It is on the outside of the eyelid.
When do I make a determination to seek the "hospital route"?  I am in a lot of pain and I do not know what I need to do?

Thanks

Thank you for your response.

I went to the hospital and got IV antibiotics which was Clindamycian.  The boil on my eyelid went down the next morning.  I had 4 boils by the night before.  One was underneath my right eye and then of course there was one on my eyelid(right eye).

I got my culture back last Thursday afternoon of last week and it came back that MRSA was resistant to Clindamycin.  Doxycycline was not so she put me back on Doxycycline and also Rifampin.

I developed a rash all around my neck with small pimples that same Thursday.  She took a biopsy Monday and I should have the results today.

She gave me some creams and prescribed a soap to bathe in that would kill the staph on my skin.

I have also been having night sweats for the last two months.  For the first time I did not have that last night.

What causes the night sweats?

I will get the blood sugar levels done.

Thanks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
I can understand your pain and agony. My suggestion would be to go to the horpital and get I/ V antibiotics as they are rapidly acting . also get prescribed some anti inflammatory pain killers and get incison and drainage of the boil on the eyelid done. Since you are having recurrent boils, it makes sense to get your blood sugar levels done.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
